From Apartment Grows to Global Recognition
Austin’s journey with cannabis began in his teenage years when he realized it wasn’t the harmful substance he’d been led to believe. Instead, he discovered its powerful medicinal potential. As a result, he began using cannabis to manage his anxiety, and over time, his curiosity quickly grew into a deep passion.
While still in high school, he started growing cannabis in his apartment a bold move that marked the beginning of his path as a breeder.
One of the most pivotal moments came early on, when he ordered some of his very first seeds from us- The Attitude Seedbank. That initial step helped spark what would become a lifelong dedication to cannabis genetics. Years later, the story came full circle. Today, we are proud to be one of Relentless Genetics’ largest global distributors, bringing Austin’s award-winning strains to growers across the world.
As his passion deepened, Austin turned to online communities like Overgrow and ICMag, where he connected with veteran growers who freely shared knowledge and rare genetics.
These interactions helped shape his understanding of breeding and growing, and his nonstop drive for improvement earned him the nickname “Relentless” a name that would eventually define his brand.
After years of growing in secret and facing legal risks in the southern U.S., Austin made a life-changing decision to relocate to the cannabis-friendly mountains of Colorado. There, he could finally explore his full potential as a breeder. Consequently, he began building a vast genetic library of elite clone-only cuts. Moreover, he started making his own crosses, initially with regular seeds, and then gradually expanded into feminized seeds through advanced reversal techniques like colloidal silver and silver nitrate. This progression allowed him to refine his breeding process and push the boundaries of cannabis genetics even further.
The Rise of Elite Cultivars
Relentless Genetics gained early attention with standout strains like Orange Valley OG, Purple Bomb, and Elmers Glue. However, it was the now-legendary Cherry Cookies that truly launched the brand into the spotlight. By crossing a Fire OG Bx1 stud with the original Girl Scout Cookies cut, Austin discovered a standout pheno #12 that combined cherry gas terpenes, heavy trichome coverage, and a robust OG backbone. This game-changing cultivar quickly earned praise from elite growers, including the renowned Jungleboys.
Building on that momentum, Austin introduced Rozay, a cross between Purple Bomb (Black Rose × Purple Diesel) and Sunset Sherbet. The result was a terpene-rich powerhouse with deep purples and a nostalgic aroma, blending Flintstone vitamins, red wine, and fruit roll-ups.
Recognizing Rozay’s potential, Austin crossed it with Gelato 41 to create Frozay, a modern classic. Among 100+ phenos, Frozay #94 stood out for its superior bud structure, cleaner color, and berry-forward terpene profile.
Frozay’s success sparked a new wave of breeding projects, including fan favourites like Speechless, Colorado Nightshifter, and NOLA Monsoon. Even more exciting: Frozay S2 is currently in the works, continuing the evolution of this iconic lineage.

Arguably the most iconic strain in the Relentless Genetics line-up, Trop Cherry (also known as Tropicana Cherry) was created by crossing a Cherry Cookies F3 stud with a select Tropicana Cookies cut. The resulting #8 pheno delivered a powerful combination of citrus-cherry terpenes, vibrant coloration, and a noticeable boost in yield. It quickly gained worldwide recognition and has since become the genetic foundation for many of Relentless’ current and future breeding projects.
To push the line even further, Austin recently undertook a massive 700-seed hunt, focusing on Trop Cherry crosses and backcrosses. From 130 BX1 seeds, three standout phenotypes emerged — each showcasing unique traits.
