Durban Poison is a well-known variety that has given birth to a number of remarkable hybrids, including the enormously popular Girl Scout Cookies. While hunting for new varietals to work on, famed cannabis activist Ed Rosenthal discovered this Sativa plant in the southern area of Africa.
It gets its name from the port city of Durban, where it was discovered. Its genetic lineage is unknown, although many believe it to be an ancient landrace cannabis strain that has not been tainted by human meddling.
